St Johns Mead School Governors

The school Governors is a small group of people made up of mainly parents, school staff and other people from the local community. The main activities of the school governors are:

  • To be a "critical friend" of the school. We are there to assist the Headteacher and other staff with the running of the school where we can. Some governors skills can be especially useful as can their different views on things.
  • Monitor the operation of the school. We are there to keep an eye on the running of the school. This covers all aspects including: curriculum, finance, premises, staffing, pay.
  • We assist in deciding the future development of the school. We are there to help improve schooling for the children.
  • We have a number of legal responsibilities including the creation and monitoring of school policies.
