Becoming a Parent Governor

From time to time, parent governors step down from their position which leaves opportunities for other parents to take up the role of a parent governor.

When such positions become available the school will send out election forms to parents allowing candidates to be proposed.

The governors have a wide range of responsibilities some of which are set out in the Governor summary. The role requires commitment , attending regular meetings and undertaking some work outside the meetings to support the school. However, it is an extremely satisfying and important role.

If you are interested in becoming a parent governor, please feel free to approach members of the governing body or you can contact the South Gloucestershire Governor Development Team on 01454 863182.

Further information regarding governors and governing bodies can be found on the South Gloucestershire Council website
